Reporting and Analysis: NetFlow, sFlow, Netstream, jFlow, IPFIX, etc.

Plixer delivers a diverse range of commercial flow measuring and monitoring tools. From network traffic reporting to network behavior analysis, we offer a full suite.

  • Scrutinizer NetFlow & sFlow traffic analysis and reporting solution.

  • Flow Analytics is a company wide reporting solution for:

    • Archiving of Scrutinizer database beyond 24 hours (i.e. infinite years of data can be saved at selectable intervals). The free version of Scrutinizer drops all data at midnight.
    • Adds several additional traffic analysis Report Types (e.g. Flows, Flow Volume, NBAR Support, etc.).
    • Report on Top Applications, Conversations, Flows, Protocols, Domains, Countries, Subnets, etc., across dozens of routers and switches.
    • Any saved report in Scrutinizer can be configured with a threshold to trigger an alarm.
    • DNS resolution becomes automated and a constant process.
    • Network traffic reporting and alarming on the internal network: SYN, NULL, FIN, XMAS Scans, RST/ACK worms, P2P,ICMP Unreachable, illegal IP addresses, excessive Multicast traffic, known compromised Internet hosts and more.

  • Distributed Collectors can be used to analyze network traffic enterprise-wide, from a central location. Dozens of distributed collectors can be supported for companies with thousands of NetFlow and sFlow exporting devices (i.e. routers and switches).

  • Service Providers can take advantage of the SPM (Service Provider Module), which allows permissions to be configured perrouter, switch, interface, etc. per login account. Customizable billing solutions for overusage and invoicing.

  • Flowalyzer Free NetFlow Tester can be used to test NetFlow v5 and v9. A very popular free tool.

Plixer Denika (Denika Performance Trender)

Overview:

Denika is an easy to use Windows® application for monitoring and trending bandwidth usage. It provides historical trends and real-time information on the status of network devices. The most common use is bandwidth utilization. However, it can be used to trend CPU, memory, hard drive space, sysUpTime, and any other SNMP OID, including non-SNMP variables (e.g. script monitoring for database activity).

One tool, many ways to view your data.

Free and commercial versions.

Denika is a free product for any company that supports unlimited devices and reports. It will even save the data for a full year, in 5 minute intervals. However, the commercial version has a few extra features.

Only available in the commercial version:

  • The ability to globally set thresholds for minimum and maximum amounts.
Note: Thresholds can be set in the free version, but it is done on an individual report basis.
  • Real-time graphs, which update every second to show live trends.
  • The ability to view the TOPn reports per report type. This is useful when trying to identify the devices with the busiest CPUs or the interfaces seeing the highest percent utilization.
  • TOPn tab that consolidates your TOPn reports into an easy to read, top-level view.

Use Denika to schedule your favorite reports and trends, which can then be emailed to end users on a regular time interval. Easy to set up and easy to use, now Denika allows users to keep tabs on their network just by checking their email.

Denika is not limited to SNMP. It is also capable of script monitoring to check database availability, tables sizes or even query response times.

Plixer Logalot (Centralized Log Management)

Simplify Event, Syslog and SNMP Trap Management with Logalot Security Center

Plixer is a leader in Security Information Management and Intrusion Protection. Our Logalot Security Information Management (SIM) / Security Event Management (SEM) architecture goes beyond progressive layered forensic analysis.

Collection, correlation and notification via our real-time console are only the beginning. Logalot is the tool to consider when auditing and reporting become important.

Logalot is not limited to the security needs:

- Security attacks from the internet and/or local area network
- Hardware failures such as disk arrays and network cards
- Operating system problems or complaints
- Many other reports as well

How Does It Work: Once Logalot is installed, administrators must configure the hardware to push messages (e.g. syslogs, SNMP traps, email, etc.) to the machine Logalot is configured on. If it is a Microsoft® server, Logalot can be configured to retrieve the events. Click here to learn more.

"Logalot is a great new addition for monitoring our network. Most of the time finding intermittent problems was difficult and time consuming. Logalot alerts me of the problem without having to manually check each system's log, something I don't have time to do. I can set alert thresholds on a policy and even build custom notifications with our existing external notification system. Logalot is a great tool and I can see a lot of value in using it."

- Central Maine Power

System Requirements: Logalot runs on Windows NT, 2000 and XP. Like most applications, when Logalot is expected to process dozens of entries per second it can become resource intensive. The system requirements really depend on the amount of devices and the volume of log/event data being transmitted to Logalot. Please contact Plixer directly for more information on sizing Logalot for your network.

MySQL Backend: The backend of Logalot uses MySQL. A completely open source architecture allows administrators to add their favorite tools to any Somix product.

Auto acknowledge alerts

Let Logalot acknowledge alerts when a problem is fixed
Logalot’s message correlation engine can be setup to Auto Clear alerts when a problem appears to have fixed itself.

Plixer Mailinizer Email Analyzer

Mailinizer is an email reporting solution that provides detailed analytics on the messages being sent and received by the mail server. It has proved useful to administrators seeking the following types of information.

Mailinizer can be used in some of the following ways for email volume analysis:

Troubleshooting

  • Was the mail server sending and receiving emails at a specified time and who was receiving them?
  • Who is sending non-deliverable or bounce back emails and who is the intended recipient?
  • What expired email addresses are still receiving messages and from whom?
  • Who is receiving "delayed email" messages from the mail server and how often does this occur?
  • What mail accounts are used the most or the least?

...... ......

Marketing

  • When marketing campaigns are emailed out, how many messages have been sent so far?
  • Who received the email and who did they forward it to?
  • Report on what social networking sites send the most mail and to whom.
  • Are select employees/departments constantly sending/receiving emails to certain addresses or domains?

Mail and Network Traffic Details

  • NetFlow traffic analysis may indicate that the mail server is causing a lot of traffic, but who is sending or receiving all the messages? Mailinizer provides the details
  • What sales and support people communicate the most via email and is it work related?
  • Overall, how many messages are sent and received for a specified time frame?
